I am undergoing shockwave therapy, and it has been painful for me.
I am undergoing shockwave therapy, and it has been painful for me. After the third session, I had to go out for three consecutive days, and I experienced pain in my leg. One of those days, I wore a compression sock that I had just bought, but it turned out to be tighter than needed, which caused congestion and increased pain. My doctor prescribed anti-inflammatory medications. Is what happened concerning? And should I stop the shockwave therapy sessions?

It causes more inflammation so yes it gets worse before it feels better. I started to feel better after the 4th treatment. It really helped me.
Just deciding whether to do this. At my appointment yesterday we talked in depth about it. He explained that it CAN be painful but only during the procedure. So I'm not sure what to think now! He said it gets better each treatment and people get relief around the 3rd to 5th treatment generally
My therapist has told me not to take any anti inflammatory drugs 5 days before shockwave I have had 4 treatments,it’s not painful but the inflammation is 10/10 !
Worked for me on right foot but not on left which scan showed a pf tear. Yes it hurts like hell but persevere if you can.
Three days of extreme pain does not seem normal. I’ve had two rounds of acoustic shock wave treatments. It hurt during the treatment and maybe a little more pain for the next 24 hours. Then I was pretty much back to baseline. I would ask your doctor.
Increasing inflammation is not a good thing. Stop!
I have a bad experience with shockwave therapy. I was told that i should get relief after 4-5 sessions, so i continued despite the increased pain. Though, I regret it. As it only trigered more inflamation and at the end I couldn’t even walk. I guess it individual, as I’ve read a lot of possitive feedback.
What helped you after that?
