What procedure are you having? I had a lapidus last year and worked from home for 15 weeks. I am 10 weeks post op on my second lapidus and still home.

I'm scheduled for surgery this Saturday.
I'm scheduled for surgery this Saturday. I've been reading through posts to get an idea of how I'm going to feel/manage. I like to think I push pain to one side and just get on with things however I know that I'll definitely need rest and elevation. I've given myself a 2 week schedule to switch off. I'm office based and plan to go back to work, sedentary after 2 weeks. Am I being unrealistic? How was your pain in the first few days? How long until weight bearing? Did it drive you crazy doing nothing?

I had Lapidus along with osteotomy on three toes. I only needed pain meds the first two days. I work from home and was able to return to work the second week. I did elevate while sitting at my desk.
My surgery was 2/25. My pain was manageable as I kept on top of it. The first few days I alternated between pain meds and Tylenol and then after about 5 days I only took Tylenol.
I managed 4 days taking my pain medication religiously before I had to get up and move about and it was the best decision I made even with pins in my toes.
It all depends on your non weight bearing length of time, if you are in plaster or not. I'm 10 days post op in plaster NWB for 6 weeks.
It depends on the surgery you are having and whether you are able to be weight bearing. I had lapiplasty which was pretty invasive and I just started walking at 8 weeks, driving at 9 because it was the right foot.
It depends on the procedure. I had a chevron osteotomy and I had my foot wrapped for 4 weeks and was advised to elevate for that entire time.
I took two weeks off work and spent that time resting, reading, binged one series, and adjusting to the lack of mobility as an active person. Knee scooter was a lifesaver.
First foot I had to be carried to bathroom for days, and was on pain meds for 5 weeks. Second foot walked from start and can take the dog out from week 2.
I had lapiplasty. I could walk using my heel in a boot in a few weeks. The pain only lasted about 5 days.
