What all can you tell me about mtp joint (big toe) replacement and fusion?

What all can you tell me about mtp joint (big toe) replacement and fusion? Did you do replacement first? Im ready that fusion takes longer to heal but more long term success. Replacement tend to not last as long but faster recovery. Im active. And I want to have a summer. The last two have sucked because if foot pain. We hike, we camp we ride horses. Ive been riding, but its getting harder. Im 42 if that makes any difference. Im on m
