Anyone know what this brown stain is, that has appeared under my toenail. I've not banged my foot or dropped anything on it. Thanks

Looks like fungus. My husband had what looks like the same thing. He eventually lost the nail. He got a medication from his podiatrist that helped. The nail finally grew back but not as clear as his good toe. I’d recommend seeing a doctor for clarification and treatment.

You can get melanoma under a nail Go get checked ASAP
Now THIS is some toenail fungus. I never had any dark spots as this was developing.
Could be a fungus among us!
I would go straight to GP with this. As an FHP I wld refer you straight there. This does not look fungal
Important to see podiatrist to make sure it is not a melanoma. Probably is not
Pls go to hospital dermatologist you have to do some investigation Pls don't wait so long
No there's no pain, no lump...it's just there

, when I practiced podiatry, I had frequent referrals from dermatologists to determine if fungus, melanoma, or other problem. Your G.P. does not have the ability to GENTLY remove the area of the effected nail. Dermatologists either. Podiatry is the only sub specialty that can do this. Observing the effected area after that portion of nail was removed is Paramount in making the correct diagnosis. Sometimes appears as fungus with nail intact. And melanoma after that portion of nail excised. In my practice of 38 years, some of my happiest patients were those referred by M.D.s, and I removed part of nail, and told them I was 100%positive, not malignant. And in the cases of melanomas under the nail, the patients thanked me incessantly for making the correct diagnosis.
