At the end of the month I'm getting my big toenail removed. I've been wanting to do this for a very long time as I've dealt with so many ingrown toenails and I know it affects the way I walk. They are going to do both feet eventually but they said they can either do 1 big toe or 2 little ones at 1 time. I'm hoping this will give me some relief. The bones in the tops of my feet always feel like they are broke but doctor says x-rays look fine. I've always worked at fast paced factories and have had to wear steel toed boots/shoes. Plantars in both heels. I quit drinking alcohol over a year ago and so of course all my aches and pains are coming forth as I had used beer mainly for my medicine. I'm 50 years old and move like a turtle now. Very painful and quite embarrassing to say the least. Wish me luck and thanks for listening.

Why do you have to have toenail removed? My foot Dr said procedure to get rid of ingrown toenail...but not removing whole toenail? Good luck 🤞

Thanks!! And my toenails are beyond repair from abuse to them. Very ugly and thick. Removing the whole nail.

I wish you the best of luck. I had my whole toenail removed as they thought it was an ingrown toenail but unfortunately it was bone desease and they had to amputate my big toe. I've never walked properly since. Now my foot is twisted outwards and have advanced arthritis and tendinitis. I walk every day in pain, yes just like a turtle.

Sorry to hear that - I suffered with dead nail on my big toe for 25 years - after I dropped a concrete block on my big toe years ago ( long story) I just lived with it- he cut the dead half of the nail off n eventually it grew back
