For those of you that had your right foot operated on, when were you able to drive after surgery?

I waited the 6 weeks to drive locally. Drove long distance for the first time this Thursday and I'm at 3 months post op.

I had a cast for 8 weeks then a boot for two weeks. So, I drove after 10 weeks.

I've yet to have surgery but at my 1st consultation, I was told it would be 4 months before I could drive.

Legally, you're not allowed to drive if you have a boot on your foot

After my first bunion surgery, my doc gave me a driving shoe so I was able to drive at two weeks. I've recently had fusion surgery and I'm 3 weeks out and can't drive yet.

I was cleared to initially drive short distances, 10-15 mins from our house, once I was able to get my foot into a sneaker which was at 3 months post-op.

I waited 7 weeks. Need to be able to do an emergency stop safely or your insurance is invalid.

When I felt safe that I could perform an emergency stop without damaging my feet, bilateral 6th Jan drove short distances 18th Feb.

8 weeks had both feet done

I was told 6 weeks - see my surgeon this Thursday for the 6 week check so praying he says I'm good to go! Ready to get my life back now.
