Had complications from ingrown toenail procedure on both toes from a month and a half ago.

Had complications from ingrown toenail procedure on both toes from a month and a half ago. Right nail got ingrown, pointy part on side, had to get nail removed at ER. The way it got stuck was very scary, worse than prior times. Now im struggling to walk. I have pain in the toe joins, ball of foot, its worse on the left leg. Now i have to wear ball of joint cushions. I am scared and i think i made a mistake doing this procedure, help!
