Hello all and happy healing!

Hello all and happy healing! My procedures are on Wednesday the 16th. I am having a bunionectomy with hardware, they are fixing my hammer toe with a pin that sticks out the tip of my 2nd toe that needs to be removed after a few weeks, and torn tendons and ligaments in the bottom of my right foot. No driving for 6 months. I am beyond terrified any advice to help with pain besides meds, ice and elevation? Thank you

Wow go you for doing the procedure. You will rock it xx

the older I get the worse it gets. I HAVE to do it now 😩 I'm so scared. Fist of all I hate being cut open. I hate surgery and there is too much to text. Thank you!

So important to rest with your foot elevated for most of the day particularly during the first 2 weeks. Take pain meds as prescribed especially at night so you can be as comfy as possible allowing you to sleep. I found raising my foot helped ease the pain too. Recovery days are long so try to make sure you have things to keep you occupied….i have never watched so much Netflix in my life! Are you able to weight bare at all after your op? Xx

Firstly you can do this !!!!!the pin which sticks out is absolutely no problem to remove so completely forget about that ☺️part I was absolutely crapping myself on the day they removed it I closed my eyes gritted my teeth and I didn't feel a flipping thing (what a wimp) So for sleeping I found cushions and pillows under my leg 🦵 and under my foot also I sleep on my side and I found a cushion between my knees helped too... I didn't ice, I probably should have but my foot was sore and I CBA with the faff I just wanted to lay in a comfy position and be left alone. You must elevate but tbh you will because your body tells you too. Pls ask for morphine I'm sure it's placebo but Im sure it was good stuff although I was adamant it didn't help but there was no way I wasn't taking it, every 4 hrs swigging it down like shots we laff about it now!!!! Hey and for the first few days rest and rest and rest. What to do is to go into the hospital with your big brave pants on .... I'd lend you mine 😁 but I'm sure you prefer your own 😂 You are going to do this !!! Let us know how you get on

thank you so much! I have very steep stairs outside to get to my apartment and I have a dog. I'm allergic to morphine 😩 but they did give me other pain meds. I have a large leg pillow. I have even been using it now. I am very concerned about the pain. I don't do good with pain. My partner with be with me the first 2 weeks. So that is nice. I am overweight and can't use crutches. I have to scoot on my but up and down the steep stairs. I can only use a knee scooter 😩 I am so scared of all the pain. I will be in good hands but still scared. Surgery is tomorrow 😬 wish me luck✌️thank you again
