Hello everyone. I had my surgery in June this year. I’m still struggling with swelling and does anyone else struggle with touching the scar area? It still feels tingly like all the nerve endings are firing off! Anyone had this? Any solutions or done anything that eased either of these problems ? This recovery is taking way longer than expected, definitely put me off having the other one done! Shared post Bill Brogan I know that women often care about the appearance of their feet and shoes, but I don’t share the same concern as a man. With that in mind, is there any benefit for me to consider bunion surgery? If so, what are they? Ty! Shared post Jill Bower Hi all! I’m an ultra marathon runner with a lot of bunion pain. Any tips appreciated to alleviate this as I’ve got a 60 mile race coming up mid-September. I’m looking at Vivobarefoot trail running shoes -has anyone got any experience with these? I’m wearing La Sportiva Jackals at the minute, they have a wide toe box but not keeping the pain at bay as they still press on the problem area. Thanks guys 🙌 Hi all! Shared post Amanda Morrison I don’t believe my bunions are that bad but I’ve been in more pain the last couple days or week it’s crazy! I don’t know what to do. I’ve been taping, and using toe spacers. I have a doctors appointment next week thankfully! But any advice on pain? Or other tips? Thank you! Shared post Sara Nelson So I don’t plan on getting my surgery till next year. But I’m in a lot of pain and discomfort that I made an apt to get cortisone shots in my foot. I’ve never had them and I’m scared it’ll hurt or it won’t help. Has anyone had them and did they help you? Shared post Olivia Martin Im 2 weeks post opp on getting bunion and Taylor’s bunion surgery on my right foot. Obviously a pretty rough start but at my two week check up i felt okay, less pain and the swelling and bruising were going down. And i got my stitches out on both sides, which did indeed hurt. I think I’ve been doing very well with keeping it elevated, no weight on it, and iced. That night after my 2 week check up, i started experiencing a different type of pain i couldn’t pin point. Almost like pins and needles throughout the top of my foot and toes, then an excruciating long lasting pain just lingering going in and out throughout my foot. I looked into and saw it could potentially be my nerves healing and “waking back up”. My doctor confirmed the same thing. But it’s been continuous and to the point I’m crying from the pain. It lasts for about 45 minutes to an hour. Has anyone else experienced this? My doc prescribed me 800mg of ibuprofen but it’s not doing much. The pain is a lot to handle and i consider myself having a pretty high pain tolerance. Just hoping i haven’t messed anything up or if anyone can just ease my anxiety on this (or feed into it idk). TIA. 🙂 Im 2 weeks post opp on getting bunion and Taylor’s bunion surgery on my right foot. Said Lapiplasty may not be the solve long term, so to do the fusion instead. Recommended orthotics and CBD cream for Arthritis. How do I know if fusion is the only/right option? Suggestions or thoughts on CBD cream? Note same Podiatrist had assistant wrap my foot (not toe) to see how support would feel. Wrapping left me with blisters after day 1 so I had to remove it. Needless to say trying to find another doctor for second opinion - Podiatrist or Orthopedist? Will orthotics help to not require surgery? TIA!
