Unfortunately, I have two conflicting problems with my foot – the same foot. I have perennial tendinitis which requires a higher rise and I have the bunions which requires a low rise . Thinking the Altra will actually make my tendinitis worse which has probably gone someway to making my bunion worse because of the way that I’m walking to avoid hurting that.

Support Group(: Hi I’m new to the group. I’m in the UK and I’m 60. Had no problems with my feet until I had my right hip replaced in 2017 and my arthritis in my big toe started to grow because of my changed gait. Parents didn’t have bunions at all. Mum is 90 and still doesn’t have them. Never ever worn heels because if my hip problem since childhood. Left foot also started last year . Been to a consultant - he says when I’m ready I can have shave and fusion of my big toe but I didn’t ask many questions as it wasn’t playing up much in terms of pain at the time . I have other problems in that foot - peroneal tendinitis too. Toe is quite straight but the bony bit seems to be growing at an alarming rate. Shoes that were comfortable in the spring are not anymore. I walk about 8000 steps a day, I go to the gym and I need to know what I can do if anything to stop this getting worse (I’m rolling onto by big toe joint as I walk causing the arthritis). What are the best trainers (for support of arches too) and other winter footwear or insoles? I wear Birkenstocks all summer . Help please See less
