Hoka have a narrow toe box so interesting choice from your podiatrist. I've had a number of pairs but wore men's wide. Have you looked at Topo? I wouldnt wear anything else now. Naturally wide toe box

I recently tried several Hokas. Currently, all of them have a very tall plastic sole that wraps up and over the material. All models pinched the outer edge of my foot due to sitting on top of this edge. Their wides didn't feel much different.
