I don't have pain but my issue is extremely cold toes, from morning to night. I have tried everything (electric socks, toe warmers, wool everything for example) to no avail. My doc is not concerned but it is getting on my last nerve! Any advice? Thanks in advance! Shared post Kevin N Carrie Hi 👋 I’m new to the group. I was diagnosed with heal spurs and planters facetious over 20 years ago. I’ve been through physical therapy twice and have tried dozens of different shoes. I’ve been to 3 different podiatrist’s and I’ve had injections in one heel. Nothing is helping and I’m petrified of surgery. I’ve know people that have gone through with surgery and the pain was back within a couple years. I’m currently trying Magnesium oil spray. It only gives a tiny smigot of relief. BTW I’m only 46 years old. Any advice is welcome and appreciated please. I’m desperate I’m new to the group. I was diagnosed with heal spurs and planters facetious over 20 years ago. Difficult to walk as pushing-off can be quite painful. I’ve tried just about every imaginable conservative measure, with no luck (see list below). I’m considering ESWT (shock treatment) and/or PRP injections. Does anyone have any experience with either in this particular area of the foot? It’s been an exhausting, discouraging, stress filled 16 months … than Shared post Anonymous participant Has anyone had an experience like this with a stress fracture: Timeline: May 2025: foot started to hurt after going off a waterslide wrong. Pain was consistent so I went to urgent care for an X-ray, they found nothing on the X-ray. May-August: Kept having pain but I thought I was just being a baby. I continued hiking and exercising as normal. Finally, I went to a foot doctor in August 2025. They found a stress fracture on my 4th metatarsal but because it had already been 12 weeks, they suggested no intervention except wearing good shoes. She even said I could continue to hike. She said 12 weeks was a long recovery but still in the normal range to have pain and tenderness but anything past that is starting to become worrisome. She scheduled me to come back in 3 weeks for a recheck. This would put me 15 weeks into this injury. My appointment is on Monday to get it rechecked but after hiking and camping the last 10 days, my foot feels way more sore and tender. I am worried I re-injured it or that it’s not healing because it was never taken care of correctly. If it is not better by week 15, will they need to put me in a boot or something? Or will they just want me to continue life normally? It feels weird having no intervention at all. I’m so worried that it won’t get better because I never rested it. Has anyone else had a metatarsal stress fracture? How did you heal it? How long did it take to heal? Shared post Michelle Osborne I'm currently waiting for an appointment with a podiatrist (soonest they could get me in is toward the end of September). I've had ongoing foot pain for years. I think it may be a culmination of things... ~In 2012, I think I broke my 4th toe (never got it looked at). The toe didn't seem to heal right...there's been a hard "ball" around the middle of it and I can't really bend it. I seemed to get over that just fine so far as I can remember. ~In 2017, I went to kick a ball for my dog and he ran chest first into the end of my foot. That same toe ended up black and blue. Ever since then I would get some pain after walking for awhile. It's a burning pain in my toes/ball of foot. I can't tell where it's coming from exactly. It started off where it would hurt when I walked a couple miles. For the past couple years it hurts pretty bad if I stand in one place, but not if I walk. I would have to take the shoe off and rest the foot for awhile and then it would be fine again. Lately it seems to hurt no matter what I do. I do not wear high heels (and never have). I try to wear shoes with enough width for my feet so they're not pinching it. I DO walk around barefoot (or just in socks) a lot. I work from home and so I rarely wear shoes unless I go outside. I don't know if that could contribute to it. Today I noticed that if I walked for awhile my middle toe separated from the other smaller toes and there was a V between then. Pointing my toes (like a dance) would put them back in their proper place. All this to say I have no idea what is going on. Has anyone had any similar symptoms and gotten relief? Is there anything people would suggest while waiting to see the doctor? I'm feeling pretty down about the whole thing. I am not a super active person, but I run agility with my dogs and want to keep doing that. My city. The recovery was painful and hard. Also about a month after a remnant pointy side on the right toenail got stuck during healing and landed me in ER. I had the whole nail removed..the nail is halfway growing out now. Im still scared of what might happen, hoping it will not ingrow since the sides got killed. Shortly after i also began having foot pain, worse on the left. I got. Acortisone shot on the left and no clear explanation as of why. It began getting better as i began wearing more comfortable.shoes and supports. However, I gained some weight and now i cannot wear my flat hard sandals. Foot pain with them is very bad. I have resorted to comfortable cushiony rubber sandals. I am afraid i made a mistake! I had this chronic problem for 7 years. I traded one problem for another..chronic foot pain and limited only to comfortable shoes. I used to be very active physically and this has caused me immense sadness. I want to think its bruising from the procedure and that it will heal with time...i just dont know whats going to happen. I feel i made a horrible mistake! I need to verify with a vein specialist. Does anyone else have vein issues that cause your foot pain to come and go all day and causes them to swell? What does it feel like? Mine's sometimes burning, sometimes inflamed, it changes so much and drives me insane. There are even periods where they feel amazing and normal. I've been to 7 podiatrists. Shared post Kelly Cameron Hi everyone, just joined the group as I'm just looking for some support from people who 'get it'. I feel like family and friends just don't (which is understandable) I basically had a full foot reconstruction. They realigned my heel, rebuilt my arch, fused part of my midfoot, corrected my big toe, straightened my 4th toe, and put in several screws to hold everything in place. It was quite a big op to fix my collapsed foot and stop it getting worse. I got run over by a bus as a kid and it's all degenerative/osteoarthritic stuff. I'm now 8 months post op and feeling flatter than my pre surgery foot. I wish I'd not had it done! The pain is still a lot and my walking is still not back to normal (definitel limp). I'm really struggling and wondering if any of you have any advice or recommendations for anyone on YouTube who help with rehab for this type of surgery. If you made it this far, thank you, you rock 🖤 Hi everyone, just joined the group as I'm just looking for some support from people who 'get it'.
