I had my MTP fusion and bunionectomy April 10. Fast forward to today, I just completed a 4-day trip to Disney World. Well over 20k steps each day in the absolutely blazing heat. The recovery has been a long road and I felt so discouraged at times. But recovery is possible and anyone who is feeling down and depressed can use my success story to motivate you through your pain. The main screw is backing out. My original surgery was June 2nd, so my foot has not healed yet. Need a new screw placed. Anyone go through this & if so, how long was recovery for the revision? It seems odd to me that I got bone shaved off and yet my feet seem wider. I can’t believe they could still be that swollen. My dr says up to a year, but really? I also feel like I still see a bump on the side, but I can see on the X-ray where they were shaved off. Ive been told I will need a bunionectomy along with a tmt fusion on my right foot. It was originally going to be a minimally invasive bunion surgery, but new pain symptoms appeared and now it looks as though my 2nd tmt joint is bone on bone. I'm at the point where walking at all, even in my best shoes, is difficult. Can anyone tell me what their recovery was like from this surgery and if you were ever able to get back to hiking?
