I had my surgery 1 week ago (August 17th) and I can honestly say it has been good so far. The only time felt pain was when I slept through my alarm for my meds on day 3. I felt it for a couple of hours. The numbness is going away and I can feel little things here and there. I am a bit swollen but the doctor says no cause for concern as I am only 7 days out. I get the stitches out next week and we will begin walking and PT. She had me try to stand on it, it felt weird so I was a bit nervous but able to do so with no pain. The itching is starting but tolerable so far. I made it ... i thought this week would.be a lot harder than it was ***Excuse the big toenail, I had trauma to that nail from an ingrown so they use that to protect it and help it grow back. I can't wait until I can get a pedicure!!!

Hi Tiffany. I’m happy to hear your recovery has started out good so far. It’s great that you’ve had very little pain and that the numbness is subsiding. Your foot looks great! Especially being only 1wk post-op. I hope your stitch removal goes well and pain-free. Are you approved for any weight bearing? Are you in a surgical shoe or boot? What procedure did you have?

I haven’t been able to get a pedicure since before my surgery which was April 6. I still have a lot of big toe stiffness and arthritis pain. 😩

Hi Natasha, thank you. Next week I can beat weight and start PT. At home I just keep it wrapped up, no boot since im not walking on it. I go out every now and again to sit on the benches so I wear it even though Im not walking on it. I had the bunion removed ans 2 screws put it. Minimally invasive

I was too. A doctor at the practice sies it and she did it a few days before the surgery. Im figuring keeping it covered helps protect from infection since a lot of my nail was cut.
