I have a question … below my story: I’ve been using the search function, looking for others who may have had open plantar fascia release surgery via the bottoms of their feet. It looks like the MAJORITY either had arthroscopic surgery or via the side of the heel. My surgeon insisted that he sees the best LONG TERM results via open surgery, having the fascia fully exposed for the best access. So, that’s what we did.
