I have been fortunate with my recovery process thus far. Surgery was 12/5, stitches removed 12/18, and pin removed 1/13. My pain and swelling have been minimal even when my stitches and pin were removed. My toe was a little sore for a couple days after the pin was removed, which was to be expected. I do elevate my foot and put ice behind my knee when not walking on it. My doctor cleared me to start transitioning from my walking boot to a shoe today! Here are pictures of my foot before surgery, with the pin, and what it looks like now.

I felt slight pressure. I was anticipating it would hurt. I didn’t want to watch when my Doctor pulled it out. I looked the other way and couldn’t believe when she said it was all done. Literally took a couple of minutes. The tip of my toe was a little sore afterwards, so I kept a bandaid on it for a couple of days.
Did you have discomfort when the pin was removed?
