I just had a Tailors bunion removed from my right foot yesterday. So far it's doing well. I'll let you know more after the bandages come off.

He did not put a screw in mine. There is a less invasive surgery now that he performed. I can be weight bearing as long as I wear my medical boot or shoe. It will be on for 4-6 weeks. I believe if you do too much to fast after that, it will still swell for awhile. Better than hurting all the time though.
Did the doc put screws in to straighten out your toe if you needed that? I have a tailor’s bunion on my left foot. The doc want to remove it but not sure what the recovery will be like. My doc said I will be able to walk out of surgery with a boot and get back to regular activities within 4 weeks or so.

I had my first one done today. He did put a screw in it and I am non-weight bearing for 4 weeks. I get my stitches out in 2 weeks.
i am 18 days into recovery now. Doc said yesterday I can gradually start wearing shoes but I think I'll wait a bit longer. I haven't had much pain at all. Anxious to get back to shoes and walking normal.
Thanks for the reply. Need to talk to him again about the screw. The first time there was no mention of it.

how did it go? How are you feeling? Did you have it done by a podiatrist or a foot an ankle orthopedic surgeon?
I had it done with a podiatrist. It was going fine till my 4 week post op. X-rays showed I have calcification happening around the screw and it’s cause some displacement. I got 3 more weeks in the boot. Go back NYE to check it again.
keep us posted. I hope you don’t have to have surgery again.
