I'm 3 months post op and I'm guessing I'm feeling what everyone is calling zingers. It's a sudden sharp stabbing pain that is just for seconds. Comes with no warning. Is this what a "zinger" is and what causes them and how long do they stick around?

In 10 days post op and already getting those jerk and tingles pin my big toe. Not fun !

Mine lasted for about 4 months. Gabapentin 300 mg fixed it. I’m 7 months out now and get a zinger once a day now.

3 months post op. Got em last night for the first time. Shooting pains along the top of my foot. I figured it was cause I started walking longer stretches.

Yes normal! Try L lipoic acid- more bioavailable version of alpha lipoic acid, I was able to stop gabapentin and only take like 100mg now and then on long days on my feet. I'm at 14 weeks.

Do a search in this group and on Google on alpha lipoic acid Helps with burning/tingling/zap type of pain. It has helped me so much. I initially bought the Thorne brand (pricey). When I went to re-order the Thorne brand was sold out so I got another brand from Double Wood Supplements. I’ve gotten other supplements from them before, so I trusted them, but the shipping took longer than anticipated and it took a few days to get to me and I ran out of pills. Within a day of not taking them the burning /zinging/ zapping pain came back so I did a same delivery from Vitamin Shoppe and within a few hours of taking it the burning pain stopped. I wasn’t 100% sure that it was doing anything at first but it was the worst way to find out that it was working lol

Oooh do they feel like Charlie horses? I used to get those all the time! (I'm 2.5 weeks post op)

That's it, 2+ months since my surgery and still get those annoying painful zingers. My surgeon said they can last for awhile, the nerves are healing and I just need to be patient....
