I’m almost 9 weeks post op for chevron and Akin on my left foot. My great toe does not touch the ground unless I try to force it. This surgery was a revision from over 20 years ago. I don’t recall having this problem at all last time. It’s making me nervous. My surgeon said everything looks good and it will eventually touch the floor. Has anyone else had this? It’s making the outside of my foot hurt so much. Thanks.

I had floating toes still at 13 weeks ,kept bending them every day flexing before I would walk , my orthopaedic surgeon told me once the swelling goes down it will eventually get better which was true and when I started walking .Takes time
My big toe is a bit above the ground. I’m 6.5 weeks post op MIS bunionectomy with 3 screws. When I walk it makes contact with the ground and is improving. I suspect it may be part of the correction process. When my big toe is firmly planted the big toe moves medially and there is a nice space between the toes which I’m happy to see. It takes some getting used to.
I'm two years post surgery and my big toe is still a bit above the ground. Went to see a podiatrist recently and hoping exercises and custom orthotics can fix it
