Are there any exercises that can be done to help ease the pain of the imbalance? I know there are things that can be bought to “even out” the length of the two legs.. VERY SWOLLEN (SAUSAGE TOES 🐷) BUT OK OTHERWISE ⭐️ St Petersburg, FL: Yesterday i had my MIS Austin/Akin bunionectomy plus a second toe procedure … either 2nd toe Weil metatarsal osteotomy or a 2nd toe arthroplasty. I’m not sure which 2nd toe procedure he went with and can’t tell from sutures. It was an inter-operative decision for the 2nd toe and I’m sure he told my husband what he did. But my husband didn’t retain that info lol. I was in post op recovery when he spoke with my husband afterwards so I haven’t spoke with my surgeon yet. Anesthesia was MAC (monitored sedation) with a regional nerve block — no general anesthesia or intubation. No pain whatsoever yet and have been immediately weight bearing in my boot. Don’t need any help getting around. So far, really great! Right toe still wanting to lean right so I’ve been instructed to stuff gauze between big toe and 2nd toe as it settles into its new position. Wild to see the excess skin my massive bunion left behind. Haven’t seen my actual foot yet but from the post op pic I think it looks good! I’ll do my left foot later this year. Slight swelling post work. Never had any pain. If your thinking about doing it, do it! In my opinon of course When can I wear sandles (strappy and supportive) ? No photo description available..
