I’m pretty sure I have the same thing going on. I’ve been working with a PT and trying to stretch and strengthen but I have a feeling it’s never going to be “perfect”

Just had my 6 week post op appointment.
Just had my 6 week post op appointment. Has anyone had any tendon (or similar) issue where the big toe is being pulled over towards the 2nd and is somewhat sitting lower and pulls underneath slightly? If so, what was the cause and how was it rectified? Surgeon sent me for an ultrasound to have a better look! He has also referred me for physio as my joint is quite stiff! Also, what are we all wearing walking around the house after being cleared for normal shoes? I haven't plucked up the courage to put a trainer on and walk in it yet but i've put my slippers back on and wow, it feels so weird!! I do feel like i'm still 'limping' so to speak....

I started in a black and white pair of these. Nice and wide toe box plus Velcro to get on and off easily. I also bought toe socks. They helped keep my toes from being squished. I thought they would bother me, but it turns out many runners wear them to avoid blisters. Amazon also sells wide socks, which is what we all should have been wearing our whole lives. I had my surgery not long before you, 8 weeks friday coming. Mine was really severe and toe did lean right under my 2nd toe for years. After my surgery it still does lean over abut im not sure if this is normal but it does still have a slight lump on the side my surgeon said the toe should not be full straight however when you see people's experiences in this group quite a lot look straight 🙂

Mine did due to arthritis in the pip joint it can’t be stopped but it can be slowed down slightly

When did you first notice it after surgery? Mines was pretty much as the 2 week bandages came off! My surgeon didnt seem to happy with it but said the actual hardware placement and everything looked fine!

Yes, pretty much immediately. I did ask the surgeon too and she told me it isn't from the actual hardware or that the actual surgery wasn't done right. She mentioned that it could potentially be fixed but I would have have to go thru another surgery to shorten the toe. I guess there is no way to really fuse that toe in place?

BeautifulWallaby7138 Yeah I was wondering because all I see is straight toes on here! Does your big toe sit lower than the rest of your toes?

Did the surgeon know about your arthritis before hand? Or was that a new occurrence after surgery?

Yes he did it was all explained fully before I had my op and again after
