No small kids, I'm 56 and my post op was Really Rough! Though 5 months on and doing really well now. It literally took five months for the swelling to go down. ( maybe cos of hot summer) took till then to fit in my pre op shoes.

I had surgery when I had a 2 yr old. I used a scooter w a basket around the house. We played a lot on the floor w games and reading together. You can do it. It will get worse. 🙏🏼🩷

I have two kiddos - 11 and 3. I had family come to hang out with the 3 yr old when she didn’t have preschool (take her out of the house so I could rest/relax) for a few hours the first couple weeks. The big one was at school and I needed to ask people to give her rides. I am also a big gym person. After about 7 days I wasn’t as drowsy and swollen and could move around more and help/drive. I am now 5 months out and back to the gym and life as normal. I recommend the surgery as long as you are able to get a bit of help with your child.

I have an 8 & 5 year old, and it's definitely manageable, however I had MIS bunion surgery so I was able to "weight bare" on day one, which really means zombie shuffle! Rest, elevation and recovery must be your priority, especially for the first couple of weeks. However, I was able to walk my children to and from school as I had no viable alternatives. I'm about 3 months post-op and I am back to full parental duties and responsibilities.

Best get it corrected will just get worse

Honestly I was back on my feet on day 4 a little bitter slower than normal but my surgeon told me to get up and start moving as soon as I could , I had a pin in my second toe so was in a pot and boot for 8 weeks 10 days in i did a full day at flamingoland if your normally really active I’d say do as much as your body lets but don’t forget to rest I’m 7 mths post op hiking 20 miles on a weekend back in my normal shoes with no problems at all good luck with it
