My before and after.

My before and after. Surgery on 12/18. Just had my 6 weeks. Doc told me to begin walking yesterday. Day 1 of weight bearing was painful on the bunion area. Lots of pain in the night. I guess that’s just part of healing. See less

Wow, I was walking day 1, with the boot...be careful. I guess instructions are all different depending on the severity of the bunion.

Ohh no! You should have been weight bearing after one week. Go easy now, but constant, if you don't walk a bit the bone will not merge as expected. I had a similar operation in November and was advised to start weight bearing after a week. No boot, just an orthopedic shoe and light compression bandage. It still hurts and it's rigid but way better movement than back then right now. It's a slow process. I am angry with my dr who simply didn't care,so I asked for advice in this and other groups on FB, got conflicting advice but took into account the ones that sounded reasonable. Asked for a second opinion, awaiting response from the hospital...
