Ok so I had to postpone my surgery due to divorce and financially I can’t take time off right now.
Ok so I had to postpone my surgery due to divorce and financially I can’t take time off right now. I’ve been running and going to the gym a lot and my bunion has never done this before, but it’s hurting and it’s cracking. I did get shots in my bunions both feet. What do you guys recommend for padding? And it hurts to besides wider shoes.

I would perhaps use regular plasters? I would just add that I am also active and LOVE running...have you considered not running? Or maybe reducing your mileage? When I used to run or walk long distances I had a similar red, swollen look.
I used to rub Vaseline on it before I put my socks on. Lots of it. Golf and Hair all the time and that got me three years without having to go for surgery.
You can get gel bunion protective pads which can help alittle from direct contact. I also got some of my shoes stretched at the bunion point or wearing shoes that that aren’t leather and stretch/give a bit.
You need surgery sooner than later, it won’t get better without as looks to far gone.
you need wider shoes
What are people finding to be the best stretchy wide shoes…for play and professional?
I don’t know where you live but I have had excellent results with sports podiatrist making me custom orthotics that enable my foot to be positioned better so that I do not have pain on my bunions before, during or after running and my bunions are horrific. I hope this can be helpful to others.
They sell the bunion pads at the local grocery stores. They are amazing.
Silicone gel sleeves or pads , bunion shoes (altra, topo)
I do walk 20k plus steps daily I luv running in the morning though it’s my routine
I’ve had an assessment he said they where bad 🙁.
I am so with you! I reduced my mileage and started cycling a ton instead (mainly spinning )and walking outside to balance my in/out
...I totally understand. I'm unable to run (at the moment) but I can walk pain free. If you find your bunions hurt or throb after a run, I would take a break. I'm very sorry you've been through so much with your ex husband...but if you can at least have a professional assessment. Take good care of yourself my friend.
I have been cycling for now
It’s a great 2nd to runners high! I just don’t feel as free..but after my bunion surgery next week I will pray to get on my peloton using cages and whatever shoe/boot I can. I heard 6-8 weeks
I think I’m getting to the point I need surgery
I do have stretchy wide shoes
I know 😩😩😩. I had surgery set and was already on fml leave for ur and my ex husband decided to walk out w out telling me but one day in advance so I had to cancel it .but ima make plans to do it soon.
they are .
They look sore
Aww it’s a shame but you will get em done and you won’t regret it, I had additional work done and tendons released, honestly day 22 and my swelling is minimal as I followed protocol and pain is nearly non existent however I don’t over do it but at the same time I am moving about steadily and each day gets a little easier, remember the saying Rome wasn’t built in a day. Just listen to your body xx
I do have stretchy wide shoes
stop running it will make it worse
obviously not wide enough- look at Topos or Altra
I never had this problem before same running shoes same amount of running and walking
