So 15 weeks post op right foot.... Back in trainers and saw consultant today who is happy with progress. Took x-ray of left foot to assess for surgery... my big toe is arthritic. But he will do surgery and pin toe so am now waiting for date (about 2-3 months) for 2nd surgery. Louise Yogini Day 30 post-op. Took an Aleve and am trying to rest my foot as much as possible before starting PT on Wed. My bunion was not extreme but my big toe was overlapping the second toe causing pain. This is day 2, not quite 48 hrs. I had an accident. I had to wash and change the bedding and clean the bathroom. I was told this isn't that uncommon. It happens about 30% of the time, and even if it were to come all the way out, the new method of doing this surgery doesn't use wires at all. Anyway, my ortho surgeon cleaned my toe, clipped the wire and redressed the foot with orders to contact the hospital again if I see anymore wire.
