Did this dr say all that other stuff is junk or just not mention it because you had already tried it?

So I went to see a new podiatrist for a toenail injury and mentioned I’m recovering from 18 mos of plantar fasciitis. She sent me home with a list of treatments that I had NEVER heard from the 3 other podiatrists I’d seen (all of whom opted for invasive and expensive treatments) So far so good! Her list: 1. Leg length discrepancy test. Basically an X-ray of both legs to see if they are slightly different lengths. She can fix this with a small orthotic lift. I have not had the X-ray yet. 2. Heating pad to calf 10 min the rolling pin to calf 2 min. 3. Compression socks (Amazon). Not too ugly. 4. Nitro patch (prescription). Cut into ¼ piece and wear on heel 10-12 hours. 5. NO heel raise exercises. (Shortens the calf muscle- who knew!) continue calf stretches. 6. Continue ART and Graston. I am confident she knows what she’s doing and I’m also angry that I spent time, money, pain and energy on steroid injections, shockwave treatments, ointments, supplements, splints, boots, dry needling (thickens fascia!!!). But I do like my orthotics. Not saying this will work for everyone but my fasciitis was likely caused by shin splints and weak ankles. Better everyday!

have you been to a chiropractor for #1? My legs are always uneven when I go and with a slight adjustment, they are the same length again.
Sounds good. I agree with all those, except the heel raises, these build ankle and arch strength, so are actually really important.
As far as what I can do at home, I’m going to try the heating pad/rolling pin on my calves.
It’s just like being gluten intolerant. Not every doctor knows about it.
Sounds good!! Add ankl exercises into that to help strengthen
What is #6?
The only comment she made was that dry needling thickens the fascia. I don’t think she wanted to really get into my saga but next time I see her I will ask about some of these other treatments. I expect if she agreed with them, she would have commented?
I kinda see it the other way. If she hated them, she would say so. If you tried and they didn't work, she would not even mention them. It is always good to try something new. Glad you have a new list of things to try.
No, the chiro is doing Graston and ART. I’ll have to ask him when I get my results. Interesting.
