Surgery was Friday, Sept 4th and doing well but experiencing arch pain but no stitches there. Anyone else dealing with the same pain? Esp big toe seems to jerk at the end of the day. Also I saw surgeon on Tuesday as a quick follow up and he added about an inch of gauze between big toe and the next one to keep them separated as he also had to put in a plate along with screws. While I am full weight bearing I am having trouble forcing myself to the couch. I go back to desk job on Monday (work from home) and trying to tell myself to rest until then. Anyone else struggling to rest ? Edited to add… yes I am unable to relax and anxiety has been horrendous with this surgery. I know I need to learn. Any way, day 8 and feeling great. Almost 6k steps today and some pain now after being out and about in the boot. Big toe is a little tired.

Can you take more paid time off work? It's hard sitting & trying to work with your foot elevated.

I can and I’m debating it today. The dr just seemed so sure that no time off was needed but I’m going to have to disagree.

I also had my surgery on Friday. But rest is easy for me right now. I work on my feet all day so this is a bit of a vacation so to speak. I’m non weight bearing so it’s a little easier for me to just sit on the couch all day. I’ve had a bit of cramping in my arch from being in a boot all day.

It's too soon. And you must keep your foot elevated.
