The toe that’s crossing over the big toe was infected I think that’s why it’s still so swollen. I think I need to tape it to the other toe not the big toe the other one. Any suggestions on what I can use or how I should do it. My skin is sensitive to bandaids . Thanks so much

Definitely get in to see your surgeon. Infections are serious issues. Also that toe should not be crossing over.

Maybe go to urgent care. I have a post-op infection and am on IV antibiotics at home for 6 weeks.

That toe should def not be crossing over like that. I’ve had both my bunions done now and neither did this. At least your infection has cleared up and I’ve just seen the pic of your foot pre surgery, a massive improvement! Good luck love. 🥰

... As mentioned I would definitely call your surgeon, as soon as you can. Until then look after yourself and rest & elevate as much as you can.

My surgeon gave me a toe strap to hold mine own but I could not wear it with shoes ..

Here’s mine, it recently got worse as the toe separator was cutting off my circulation and turned my big toe and second toe purple. I’ve since broke my ankle and I’m in a boot. My right foot is so painful! 😔🙏

The infection is gone now. It was infected that’s why I think it’s still so swollen. I’m 5 weeks since my surgery . I’ll send a picture to my doctor on Sunday and see what he says

Thank you. I’m not that worried about it. The infection is gone, I have no pain and I’m in a surgical shoe and walking normal. Just some swelling that goes away when I elevate the foot . I know everything will be ok. If the dr recommends another surgery I’ll be ok with that.

It’s only 5 weeks the pin was pulled out about 10’days ago due to an infection . That’s all cleared up now I’m not in any pain. It’s just red and swollen . It’s been getting better everyday . The swelling has been going down .

you’re gonna have to wait and see once the infection clears and everything is stable what kind of pain you left with if any and then at that point decide what needs to be done

I think so as well. I’m pretty sure it would be in the office . The bunion is gone . The dr would probably put another pin in it . Thoughts?

yes ,, now my toes are sliding off the joints again… I had a surgery for bone spurs in my little toe area that got infected last February , I had two Iv drips antibiotics .. the toe is now infected again .. I think it went dormant ..

my bunion wasn’t this bad until I went to a quack podiatrist that clipped the tendon of my second toe. He didn’t put any support in that toe, so it became floppy and caused my big toe to move all the way to the right. It’s getting worse and worse. I missed the statute of limitations for that first quack. It’s extremely painful.

Janine, can you go to an orthopedic surgeon preferably in a city at a teaching hospital for your bunion? I had surgery 8 weeks ago after having severe bunions and my foot if so much better. You will feel much better if you go to a surgeon who can fix your foot. Just my 2 cents
