Things I have learned from having bunion surgery: 1. The pain when the nerve block wears off is intense but then it went away with occasional zaps as nerves healed. 2. Swelling is normal and will last several months even after stitches are taken out. 3. Skin peeling when the swelling starts to go down is normal. 4. Being NWB for 7 weeks and using a rollator can mess up your knee. I find physical therapy helpful. 5. Rest as your body needs it to heal. 6. Healing takes a long t
