This is my large toe and i’m a little bit confused as to what is going on here. I have fungus on 4 of the nails, bar one. The fungus completely spread to all 4 nails and fully covered each nail within 3-4 weeks. It was aggressive. Anyhow, my larger nail cracked when someone stood on my foot, so I pulled the dead nail off and this was what was left. This was about 3 months ago now. The nail seemed to potentially have cleared up a but as I have been filing it down and keeping it aired. The base of the nail (circled) was showing signs of clear fresh nail coming through, but all of a sudden over the last couple of weeks it has been turning a milky white colour, it appears smooth, but I am curious if you think this is more fungal growth coming back or is the white colour a healthy sign? Thanks for your help

If you haven't dealt with the full extermination of the fungus , it will just return. You may need professional advice. It is a persistent , hard to treat infection. I thought I had cleared up my minor infection so became complacent. Currently I use topical treatment called Rejuvinail (NZ) which has arrested the fungus but still not eradicated it. You may need professional help for treatment.
Use Vicks
I've been using vicks and it seems to be slowly helping. It took the itch away.
My two cents is best to get a nail culture done to definitively determine whether you have a fungus and what exactly the fungus is so that you can treat it effectively and not waste any time while the nail grows out because it takes a very long time with big toe nails. I had this done and it came back showing 3 different types of candida.

It looks like it to me. It happened with mine and I read it’s a different fungal strain
I'd use Emuaid max on it 3 times a day as directed.
That looks like the Lanula of your toenail coming back
Looks so like mine which I have been treating with Vicks etc for 3 years. Am wondering if I am winning against the fungus? Comments please
I appreciate the comment, and I am aware of vicks, it does not work for everyone. However i’m looking for an answer to my question, please be mindful of this

Anonymous member 564 Would a medical provider recommend different eradication methods based on the types of fungus/candida? Did your medical provider clear your toenail issue?
