Today is 4 weeks and 5 days post op after a double bunionectomy. Bandages and compulsory shoes have now been removed. Can someone please assist with after care for my feet please. Should I soak them and if so in what solution and what ointments/lotions are best to assist with the healing. I’m thinking a warm salty water solution and possibly a vitamin E cream but happy to hear any further suggestions. Please don’t judge the toenails . They are well overdue for a pedicure. Once I get a bit more movement that’s next on my list. Thanks so much .

My surgeon said once the sutures were healed I could rub Bio-Oil on them, massage it in around the incision, to help with scarring and help the skin recover. It has been great so far. He said any kind of natural ointment would work….

Cerave or aquaphor ointment works well.

I put E45 cream on my feet but not on stitches or it could cause infection.

I’ve had them covered and dry since the operation hence the flaky skin and wound residue. I’m really looking forward to having a shower standing up 🤣.

Thankfully the stitches have been removed. It’s just the leftover residue on the wounds which I’m hoping will heal with proper aftercare. I’ll checkout the E45 cream. Thanks so much 🩷.
