I am finding that since we are all so different, what works for one may not work for another, there is no one solution for all. Fleet feet shoe store, free 3d scan to find the best shoes and insoles for my specific feet are a game changer and another Amazing member of this group shared this with me. Hope you can find a store near you!

Hello. I know there are lots of posts with people talking about the best insoles that they have tried and/or love. My question is a bit more specific and i cannot find a post with my specific needs. I’m asking anyone who has ALL of the SAME COMBO of issues that I HAVE…… and what insoles and/or shoes (9 Wide for more front foot room) have they found that works better than others. -I have plantar fasciitis, obviously, that’s why I’m here lol -Neuropathy in both of my feet. -Flat feet with barely any arch, my ankles want to go inward when I’m on my feet. -Obesity. I’m 5’1” short and 365 pounds. (I’m sure it’s just time and getting older but this has been getting worse after I lost 230 pounds over 10 years time 2013-2023) andthen now I have gained back 80 pounds over the last 3 years. Pic to show cankles… feet tilting inward.

I am similar in status, except my foot has fallen arch from bone out of place causing the flat foot issues. So... My preference of shoe and insert is Keen lightweight hiking shoes. They are not a true wide unless you order that way but they are wider than normal shoes in general. Paired with original Walk Hero inserts. Taping my feet (Kenetic tape) helped fix the worst of the pain, now I just wear the shoes and insoles and I don't tape. I did tape for almost 4 months before it really helped. I buy a new pair of shoes about annually, shoes do wear out. But they have been my best fix for the every day need.
Custom orthotics can help a lot with fallen arches and PF pain in my experience. Try to find a podiatrist who does hard plastic shell insoles that can be tuned up periodically versus the rubber or cork ones. They are expensive ($900 for mine now) but they last a few years and help a lot.
I have very flat wide feet. I’m wearing recovery slides in the house and hoka gaviota with superfeet insoles outside. I have also been working on walking with my feet parallel, which is a healthier alignment. Many of us who pronate walk like a duck and over time, this may cause other joint issues. I had to roll my feet in and out to stretch the muscles a bit and I’m walking straighter now.
The lack of arch is poss driving the pf? Go and see a podiatrist for taping/ongoing treatment. I decided to get my weight down so it could possibility help everything else I was doing
Yes I do understand everything is different for everybody. But I’m looking for a starting point. And it to be from somebody with all the same issues that I have. And as I said it’s a starting point to even start researching those things. I’m not just gonna go out and do what somebody else does but I will research and see if things sound like something that I would like to try.. We do not have a fleet feet store. We have a good feet store and I did go to them last weekend. And yeah they did all that stuff but they’re like pure sales. They push and push you to buy and I don’t have $2000 to spend. Yes my feet are important and I do get that, I live with them so I do get that but also if you don’t have money and you can’t afford to add a new credit card to your finances, I just can’t do it. But it was pretty cool because of the scan and some of the info that he gave me that I didn’t already have, was pretty cool. I knew what I was walking into that it was probably gonna be a big sales thing like pushing kind of like a car salesman when I went in I told him I am not going to be getting anything today. This is for pure information. And so I already started with that but of course they don’t care about that. But anyway what I didn’t like was you know we’re all done and stuff and he gathers everything and goes up to the register and puts everything in he’s like yeah so it’ll be you know $2000 almost and basically making it like I said I was gonna buy it. And almost put me in a spot where it’s like I felt pressured and uncomfortable because I had to say no like I don’t know how many times. Thank you very much for your response. Because if I hadn’t known about that store, it would’ve been a really great resource.
Thank you for sharing. Im gathering information so I can find what i want to try next. I have taped my foot two or three different ways but there’s so many different ways to tape it I don’t know exactly what’s best two of my sisters had told me two different ways and then it seems like they might work the first time and then it doesn’t seem like they work the next time.
I put the starting end under my arch and slight pull to give it the arch shape, then over the top of the foot arch, around the back of the ankle and back around the top to the outside of the foot. I don't know if that'll give the visual but a figure 8 shape with the arch and ankle in a loop
Is this what you are talking about?
you need to tape 24/7 for a couple of months till the micro tears in the fascia heal. And get a decent pair of shoes which are comfortable and supportive while you are taping. Try on various pairs till you find what’s best for you. No flip flops.
I had gotten those like 25 yrs ago and yes they were amazing. Insur paid then…. I need to check again but my dr referred me to some foot store thing and insur does not cover it at all. I have a case manager thing with my insurance, she will be calling on monday so i will ask her what i can do. Those things helped ALOT…. You are correct, but a million years have passed with no pain and here i am again
