Hey everyone! I finally visited the doctors and we took X-rays. He said they weren’t too bad but surgery would fix it before it got worse. It is painful, but the doctor said it would help. But I’m wondering how long did it take you to recover from surgery? Was it really painful? Do you regret it? I work from home and only wanting to take a few days off, but should I take more? Thank you! I already have plantar fasciitis surgery about 4-5 years ago. I don’t want anymore pain in my feet!

What type of surgery is recommended Amanda? It has always seemed like surgery is a “last resort”, it’s interesting that it is recommended as a fix before it gets worse.

Depends on the surgery you have. I had scarf and akin osteomy. Two weeks in bed foot elevated. I'm on week 5 still in boot but pretty much doing normal things. Still have some discomfort but it's only now and again because the wound hasn't healed yet. To soon to say how I feel about the surgery.

yeah, nothing can make it completely go away once it’s developed. I’m managing by supporting my feet by exercising and wearing well cushioned running shoes (specifically stability running shoes for overpronation) almost all of the time. I’m hoping to manage this way for a while 🤞

yeah I’ve tried all those unfortunately. And I had plantar fasciitis surgery after 4 years ago and they told me then I had bunions and should have taken care of it. (It was a bad doctor). Having schedule in a week! Just scheduled

please can you share your experience with me as you go? I’ve been struggling/managing with bunions for decades. I had plantar fasciitis for 8 years (from 2004 to 2012) and it took many months of physio and ice after the day I decided enough is enough! It was several months of healing and work but I did it! The bunions won’t heal, but the running shoes all the time and the strengthening exercises are helping me for now. I’m interested in your surgery journey if you feel like sharing- if you don’t want to share in the group, it would be okay to direct message if you decide you want too. I hope surgery is a great solution and works well!
