I had my bunion surgery seven weeks ago and I’ve recovered very well from it – although I did have an infection in the wound in week three – which cleared up with antibiotics. I also had a hammer toe repair – and this hasn’t healed as well – I’m wondering if it’s normal to still feel pain and for it to feel so numb – has anyone had a hammer toe repair alongside a bunion operation?

I didn’t have hammer toe repair as such but realignment of three smaller toes as well as the bunion surgery. The small toes all healed quickly but the top of my big toe was numb for many weeks. I am now 13 weeks post op, the numbness has only recently gone completely. I believe pain can be common for up to 12 months following surgery x
