I'm coming out of my surgical shoes in 10 days and looking for UK recommendations for trainers with a wide natural toe box and more narrow back to keep foot in place. What have you all transitioned into and would you recommend what you bought. Thanks Shared post Louise Yogini Day 27 Update Part 1 Hello to my bunion community! Today is a big day. I had my dressing removed, and was cleared to transition into regular shoes. I have to wear a toe spacer for 3 weeks 24/7. I went home and tried on my pre-surgery sneakers. They fit width wise, but I want something a little more roomy length wise while I transition. I ordered a half size up Hokas and On Clouds that should be arriving later today. She does not think I will need a bigger size since the toe box runs really wide. Footwear question: In one week, I will be released to start transitioning out of the boot into regular shoes. I assume that I will need bigger/ wider sneakers? So how do you handle that when one foot is your regular size and the post-op foot needs a bigger size? I’m still in a boot, but my doctor is allowing me to start driving (with a soft shoe). I tried a Croc sandal- and felt ok around the neighborhood, but had a lot of pain for 3 days afterwards and went NWB again for one. Maybe a stiffer sandal like a Teva? I feel like in Oofos I wouldn’t feel the car properly. What works for you? Shared post Julie Hope Hi all, after a fractured 5th metatarsal in May 2025 I found that because of the pressure on my foot I had terrible pain in my bunion. I’ve had bunions for many years but this certainly caused issues. I eventually had surgery in February this year and was delighted to see how straight my foot was. If I can go back and just do a couple things I would, but I have come to accept the fact that this is what happened so now I have to try and figure out the next steps. I also had fifth metatarsal work done and the bunion done.  I developed CRPS and still have nerve sensitivity.
