Next step towards recovery from this second foot surgery.
Next step towards recovery from this second foot surgery. I have to wear a splint 3*/day at least until my next appointment in May. Starting weight is at 2psi will be at this weight for a bit before I move up. Also start out with 10 mins each time. Has anyone else ever had a splint? It's definitely interesting .

This helped me IMMENSELY. I also had to do two surgeries within a year because of lack of motion etc after the 1st. I could not believe how much this helped me get motion back quickly. I think I used it for about 2 months. Stick with it! It’s totally worth it.

It was so helpful! Once you get used to it, I actually enjoyed how my toe felt so much more flexible after each use.

stretches the tendon in whichever toe it is on to prevent them from tightening up. When I had my first surgery I lost almost all movement in my big toe. So after this second surgery he wanted to prevent that.

, thank you! We're you able to recoup some movement in big toe after first surgery? Months after surgery, I am trying to get more flexion in my ankle and toe.

my first surgery I ended up having an allergic reaction to the metal but we didn't realize that's why I was staying severely swollen for way past normal recovery time. That's one of the reasons I had my second surgery. We took out the metal in my toe and fixed the hammer toe in the second toe. I've had minimal swelling after the first week on this surgery. I had almost no movement in my toe before January.

yes! It does feel very strange when you first start and it definitely looks like your toe is bending almost too far but it’s not. 😆 I told my Dr it looked like a medieval torture device! It actually started feeling good. I wish I could’ve done an extra month but had insurance changes etc. It felt really strange when you first take it OFF after a session but I’m really amazed at how quickly it improved my motion. I started it almost immediately after my second surgery.

that's really good to know! I lost so much movement in my toe after the first surgery... I'm sure a majority of that was because I was allergic to the metal though. I'm glad it worked so well for you!

we are hoping it stretches out the tendon in the toe. Today is officially 2 months post op. Recovery thankfully is going well.
