Questions: 1. In addition to bunion(s) whatever form, were any of you suffering with overpronation of big toe. OR an ingrown toenail same foot. Ingrown toenail was first visit to my dr and was extracted nicely. Anyways the overpronation lead to ginormous calluses on big toe and ball of foot. Which also lead to the hallux rigidus (that adjective changed every visit this past year). Part of my conservative measures to address this were orthotics, shoe change and lots of pumicing, paring (by dr) and self surgery (major no-no). 2. If any of you are past post op to know if the above has ebbed, I sure would be interested in days ahead how surgery may have changed those foot issues. 3. And being the feet are our “foundation” don’t you feel like and older building falling apart, lol. Or a car that is grossly out of line?? Just curious, bored, inquisitive person letting my foot heal up!! Four weeks post op today!!!!

Have a rather large callous caused by hammertoe & hoping it will eventually go away. One of the foot specialist I went to for for the bunion, hammertoe & I thought Morton's neuroma ignored what I came in for & wanted to shave my callous & perform a gastric recession. Uh....no thank you. That's why you have several consultations, research & research.
Hi ! Yes, I had the same calluses you're talking about. My ortho said all related to the bunion and hammertoe. Also had ingrown nails, both big toes, both sides- removed years ago but think they may be coming back. 3.Totally yes.
3 mo post op..my ingrown toenail was not affected by the surgery in a good or bad way..damn thing just starts to grow then gets ingrown, and then I flip it and it falls off. Not even any blood, been this way for years...at least the bunions are gone and they don't hurt.😆
