How long after surgery did the pain go away?

Wow!! Just 4 days of pain medication… that’s not even reasonable for most patients. Call your Dr in the am and request more meds!

Pain lasted a week or more right afterwards , but the first 4 days were the worst , I had major work done and my surgeon gave me pain pills to last a few weeks then another 30 days of tramadol to wean myself off the heavy one ! He knew the pain I would feel , hopefully if you are still in pain you can ask for more ! Speedy recovery to you

I had my surgery mid July and am still icing and uncomfortable. This is brutal and I've had six shoulder surgeries and 4 spinal fusion surgeries

I’ve had surprisingly little pain or swelling after my MIS.

I’m so sorry about the pain you’re experiencing. Just contact your surgeon, inform him or her about your pain level and request a new script. Possibly, a different/stronger pain med. What’s the deal with the stitches, though? I’m genuinely asking because this is the first pic where I’ve seen stitches placed/left like that.

Hi there ! I didn’t had my surgery yet but can you use a ice pack to help you with the pain and inflammation? I had other surgeries last year and that’s what helped me.

I never took hydrocodone after day 3. Tylenol only and was ok.

After 6 months still in incredible pain but had 3 neuromas removed along with big toe joint replacement and bunion

I’m 9 days out from surgery and still in a lot of pain. I’ve been icing all day every day pretty much with breaks and on oxy every 6 hours around the clock. For the first time today I slept through my alarm. Woke up in tears 2 hours past when my meds were due. You should ask for more meds because 5 days is not enough at all.

I had my second surgery (lapidus) July 1. I had a nerve block. I only used hydrocone for three days then alternated ibuprofen and tylenol. I was back in the gym six weeks later. Same with the first surgery.

I slept with an ice pack under my knee wrapped in a terry towel and elevated for hours. I know they say so many mins per hour, but wrapping in towel seemed to lessen the cold and prevented swelling.

No nerve block so hydro worked for 3 days.

Working on Week 4, pressure, pulling, sore to touch, bloated foot that refuses to go away…

By day five, I was managing pain with alternating Tylenol / Ibuprofen. Call your docs office and see if you can manage pain with OTC meds.

I was given Gabapentin which did help. So sorry that you are going through this.

I was on oxycodone every 4-6 for almost 3 weeks. I would call your doctor.

I'm 6 weeks post-op and still have pain. It was nerve pain very bad and finally let up some. I was on Oxycodone, then Hydrocodone, now Tramadol. Can't step on my foot fully yet.
