Hi bunion buddies!

Hi bunion buddies! Had my 6 week check up this past week and was told I could ditch my boot! I came home and put on my altra’s and got to it! Was weird at first but better everyday! A little off walking in my house slippers. Both these and my sneakers have arch support, I use power step inserts in my shoes. I’ve got plantar fasciitis so it’s a must! Altras are a great choice for pre and post bunion thanks to the wide toe box! Oh and I took our new foster pup for a short walk yesterday, and since it was his first walk and also mine .. well I had to carry him for most of it but we got it done together Anywho my last scab came off near my big toe and I guess this may be one of my last posts! I have one more follow up at the end of December. This whole experience has been pretty positive! Sure the first two days were ROUGH. Then the first two weeks were a little difficult. But I am really happy with my results and I hope this can help someone else who is looking into getting bunion correction surgery. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help along the way! Hey who knows maybe in a couple years I’ll get my right foot done. No pain yet.. so

Congratulations!!! So exciting. And so sweet fostering a dog. 🐶 Which slippers are you wearing?! They look so cozy! I like a comfy slipper, not slides, but need arch support. These look great!

I did take a break from fostering but when I was getting around so good in the boot I thought, what the heck!! 😅 The brand is ERGOfoot! I found them on Amazon! I’ve had this pair since Feb of last year and still good as new! They have a few styles on there!

How bad was your foot and what type od surgery did you have? Looks like a bunion is your other foot?

I don’t have any before pictures. But I will add the pic of my x ray which shows a comparison! I had the lapiplasty. And yep bunion on right foot as well but it isn’t quite as painful/bad as the other one.

Thank you. For lapiplasty, your big toe must have been angled over??? Did doctor say anything about doing other foot sooner rather than later, so surgery and recovery would be easier? Guessing that is the case ???? I'm trying to learn!
