I’ve had plantar fasciitis in both feet for about 9 months. I lost all hope at one point. I’ve tried everything from sleeves, tape, shoes, rollers etc. I’m on my feet all day everyday for work. Nothing helped. For the last 2 months I have tried toe yoga. I have also added in strengthening my ankles and calves. I also do toe separators daily for 10min. I can say that I’m so close and about 95% healed. If you are avoiding surgery or steroid injections….this is what worked for me. YouTube toe yoga. Tons of easy starter exercises. So glad I found this info in this group because I was at a point where I didn’t think I was ever going to be active with my kids again.

Can you please share what exercises you’re doing for your ankles and calves? There’s just so much info out there.

Try the app hinge health it’s free it has all kinds of stretches for plantar fasciitis

Similar approach is helping me, along with wearing Birkenstocks around the house since my arches are high. Have gone from limping and 5/10 pain every day to 0-2 most days. I have strong calf muscles now!Now I just need to figure out how to not cause a flare up when going for longer walks.

When you say toe separators, are you talking about the kind of toe separators you use when you paint your toenails or is it something different?

Community comment#5

It’s crazy but along with some stretching, inserts, viasiox, and the topper is using salonpas lidocaine plus I’m at least 90 percent better

ALL of that is what Dr. Angela ‘preaches’. You MUST FIX the PROBLEM, not just throw bandaids at it, or it will NEVER go away.

10 years fighting this. Lost job, social life, and too many other things. Even a picture of what you're using would be helpful. I will try anything

I have definitely noticed that my toe separators are helping. Thanks for the info on toe yoga!

Would you mind aharing which toe separators you are happy with? Mine are destroyed and need new ones. (I am in US in case it matters)

What you are doing is working for me as well! Strengthening your feet, ankles, toes, etc, will work for many.

Oh I try so many. Start with toe yoga first and the separators. I did calf raises too soon and felt like my progress regressed. The toe yoga strengthens your feet. I watched tons of Dr. Angela videos. I 100% recommend watching her videos. She talks about how the plantar connects to the entire body. Once my feet got stronger and I had less pain, I then started calf raises and strengthening

You are welcome! She even gives you ideas to slowly transition to bare feet but again I would just work on foot strengthening first before you walk barefoot. Make sure your pain is almost gone. I just started walking barefoot yesterday(not in hard floors)

ScenicDolphin5254 I have balance issues and I grip with my toes. I'm beginning to think this is what caused mine while walking too far. just all these crazy little things you never think about.

ScenicDolphin5254 I keep seeing people say Birkenstocks and to me that sounds painful. Which kind do you use? I have really high arches and would love to try this.

, the slow break in is key. I’m going to try a Birkenstock loafer or sneaker for winter or at least their insole. Sorry I don’t recall the style name of these.

May be an image of shoes

ChattyPeacock71 yes I know what it is .. five days of using it has obviously relaxed my nerves in my feet and the pain is nearly gone
