I’ve had mine for only 3 months. Dr is sending me to PT, it is a 4-6 month waiting list. I got online and found my own PT exercises online, and started doing them and I’m starting to feel a lot better stretching, strengthening, of the ankles. I’ve even been walking barefoot, but you gotta walk heel to toe. Youtube has a lot of good videos.

My plantar fasciitis finally healed after 2 years!
My plantar fasciitis finally healed after 2 years! For those that healed or gotten much better, do you do any maintenance so it doesn't come back again? Edited: the changes I made that helped my body heal was: went gluten free, lost weight, started walking more and working in some strength training.

My vibration plate helps me tremendously!! I lapsed a bit, just being super busy with my schedule, and noticed a big difference. Since I started back up on it with daily use, no problems and it helps so much with keeping the pain away. However, before using, discuss it with a doctor or medical professional, since not everyone can, or should, use a vibration plate. Both my primary, my PT, and Orthopedist gave me the green light, and it has been a godsend. I use the Lifepro Rumblex Pro. I was able to use my HSA card to pay for it with a letter of necessity from my doctor, if that helps.
Mine is 95% healed after a year and a half. I tried everything but surgery, including injections in my foot. I believe what helped me most was taping my foot. Also stretching every morning and losing weight.
I’m 2 years in. What worked for you?
I think magnesium helps a great deal when your over 50
My question to you is how did it heal?
Yep. Strengthening and vibit.
How?
But how
How? Going on one year!
I agree. I taped 24/7 for eight months. Stretching and strengthening as tolerated. Also working on hip flexors glute medius. Bad hips led to bad knees and stopped at my feet. Now I’m bare foot as much as possible.
where and how did you tape? I'd like to try this too..
how did you tape? Is there a video for taping method? Thanks
yes how did you tape?
I went gluten free, lost weight. Started walking more actually and it went away.
how much walking? I was getting about 8k daily
There is no quick fix. These are the things that helped me get back to running: good supportive shoes, 4 x weekly strength training; foot strength and balance, calf, glutes, hamstring strength. Dorsal flexion and big toe mobility. Daily stretching, daily walking. Calf raises whenever you can at home, walking on top toes, Using your feet to pick up marbles, vibration plate on the bottom of the foot, toe separating and toe yoga. Morning rolling on a foot roller. All of this supports the strength and development of the foot and the plantar fascia. Anti inflammatory for flare ups, consistency and determination. It is the only way. I also used a foot brace for an hour each evening to keep my foot in an upright position
Finally. Dealing with it since January and finally the pain is gone. PT to strengthen the legs and core. I did some taping but not a lot. Did use barefoot shoes and ankle compression socks. At the very beginning I used a golf ball that I rolled with my foot to get rid of a hard knot. I used it anytime I felt it coming back so it never did. They used dry needling, acupuncture, cupping and heating pad worked best for me, icing did not. I plan to continue to do my stretching and concentrate in my walking and certainly and type of she’s I wear. Good luck
VioletBeet6489 good grief. That sounds like a full-time occupation 🤣
It sounds like a lot and it is but it can all be achieved along side a busy life. Like I say, there is no quick fix and it take consistency and determination
what’s vibit?
I envy you! Been on a hurt for a year.
Absolutely, all the time. I’ve read without maintenance & continuous correction of what you did to get in that cycle, it’s bound. To come back. And, it’s bound to happen in the other foot. Not worth it!
Foot massage Heat and cold water bottle rolls stretching everyday and in the morning!
I went 10 years, and somehow it felt to need to come back. Errg
Did it heal on its own?
I continue to do basic PT stretching and strength work with a balance board and ankle movements
Mine hasn't come back since last year.
What did you do for it?
I love hearing good news. I'm at the 1.25year mark and I know I'm right around the corner from feeling my best.
Yes sneakers rotation, lots of stretches and exercise. I don't wear any shoes that's are unsupportive.
Yes continue with all strength and stretching. PF is never really cured but it can lay dormant
After weeks being flared, all I had to do was always wear comfy slides, even in the shower, and orthotic inserts. Im further in healing over the last month than I have been over almost a year. Calf raises aggravated it. Shockwave saw no changes. I jog 5 days a week in Hoka shoes. And wear slides. Less and less pain everyday. For now.
Don’t speak too soon it’ll be back
At the moment no
Mine is almost gone, I'd say about 90%. Yes, I still do stretches before I get out of bed, and the message gun is my best friend. I work in an office and I get up and stretch and walk on my breaks. Keep moving and stretching 😊
Stretching. Never barefoot but for short periods. I had a series of shots and taping.
UPDATE: I received the painful shot yesterday. And today I was surprisingly happy that the pain was gone and I could walk without limping as much. ************************ I've received cortisone shots today. It was soooo painful, I felt like crying. Hope the pain will go away after 3 months of suffering. I really don't want a second shot like the doctor suggested. I will be starting a series of stretching for my heel and calf. If it doesn't work, then it will be needling (acupunture like needles) inserted in my heel to provoke a healing reaction.
I noticed if I still with that same kind of job , (cashier)o still hiking long hike the pain started again , , lots a changes!
Stretching. Lots of stretching the calves and feet.
How
Absolutely agree. Mine comes and goes too over the years. My conclusion too is it is a strength issue.
, may I suggest that you go to a good podiatrist. I am having very good results with my podiatrist. I have found it to be very comforting to know I have exercises specifically for my feet and condition. I do a set of 4 exercises every 2nd day, along with walking almost every day. Good luck on your journey 🙂
I had them ice the area before the shot and it was EXTREMELY helpful, even better than their bottled numbing cold spray. Just - ice cubes! Then the shot doesn’t hurt as much. I use this trick for most injections.
But how please
How, Please help and Guide....
Hallelujah!! That has to be the biggest relief ever

what shoes are you wearing?
My good friend has an ultrasound therapy machine, and I've been using that and it has started to heal my plantar fasciitis. It really does work. I did everything the doctor told me like, inserts, new shoes, medicine that skyrocketed my BP. All that and none of it worked. I've been using the ultrasound machine for a week and it doesn't feel like I'm walking on needles in the morning anymore. Just a slight ache at the end of the day instead of throbbing and bad pain.
Glad you are feeling relief! I've had it 3 years. At my height and weight, (5'8" 146 lbs), I don't really feel that's considered overweight. I'm at the gym MWF for weights/strength training. I walk seven days a week. I eat pretty healthy. I take supplements. I went to pt for several months (no relief). I use a massage gun and a foot massager with heat, compression, and kneading, night splints, have tried medical orthotics, do the stretching exercises every day, toe spacers, and I use a tens unit 3 xs a day. I also transitioned to zero drop shoes. So far, 3 years later= 0 relief.
Me too. Taping has been the biggest help. I now tape a week, then a week off. The skin on my feet needs a break and was suffering. But stretching, taping and no sugar in my diet has helped.
I just started taping with KT tape and it's giving me relief while wearing it. You can search YouTube for Kinesiology taping for plantar fasciitis. Different methods, find what feels good for you.
FascinatingPineapple4941 there's videos online. You need kinetic tape i think its called. Look online
I went from pretty inactive 3-4k steps a day To getting up and walking a mile every morning for the past 2 months so I get my 10K steps a day usually
I was walking 90 minutes a day and that’s how I developed it.
I have been walking in the hokas. Then I wear Teva hiking sandals.
ok. you are very very lucky that you can wear hokas as I have tried all of them and brought them all back they were just bad for me but I'm glad they're good for you
- is Vibit better than Lifeplex Rumble Pro? Any idea
I just purchased one and really like it. Go to utube
some of us cannot afford to pay doctors or our insurance won’t cover it for us to go to a doctor to get the relief that we need. So we turned to the Internet and fellow sufferers to see what helps. I have just about cured mine on my own using a lot of the techniques that I learned on this group.
thank you
im all about a new.machine. do tell.
I'm not sure the cost of it. But my older buddy has one he said it was expensive. But he bought it 20 years ago. I put the setting on 1, at 1.6 mgz for 10 minutes. From what I had explained it has some type of crystal in it that vibrates 1,000s of times per second, and it puts micro tears in the scar tissue in your foot, and promotes your body to send blood to your feet to heal that scar tissue your body thought was healed.
All I know is nothing worked, and now I'm feeling some relief
have you tried steroid injections?
Yep, I've had about 5 injections. I stopped because there are too many articles explaining that ongoing injections (2x a year) weakens the fasciia, and that's why the pain returns in force, which was exactly my experience. It just exacerbated the condition.
wow. My dr. Said it’s totally safe etc etc 😣😳
It’s an overload issue
I’ll tell you when I’m not living with 10/10 pain everyday 😢
My podiatrist says never walk barefoot again. I believe her.
My dr just told me yesterday that its chronic and I will have to keep up on the exercises
VioletBeet6489 could you please share some of the strength training..
I’ve had mine for over two years now. My weight is ok and I’ve always strength trained. Hopefully it’ll get better someday like yours but starting to lose hope ❤️🩹
I had mine for about 10 months, severe at first and then lessened after about 8 months - i have recently not suffered with it. I carried on walking and playing netball as best as i could. I iced my foot on the evenings. I found changing my footwear massively helped - comfortable, supportive shoes for work. Also, wear a foot support/strap for longer periods of exercise.
My friend and I both had this ... her doctor told her it takes about a year and half... for some reason. Both of ours took that long to heal and now we don't go barefoot 😂
Keep doing what you did to heal. Be mindful of your body and listen at the first possible return of pain. Really, as long as you don’t do what you did before, that caused the pain to begin with, it shouldn’t return.
Massage gun and castor oil
I can't take long walks in concrete anymore in my neighborhood anymore. I switched to dirt trails but I still do that 12 mile Las Vegas Strip Urban Hike when I am there. I have not had any symptoms since 2021! I did began wearing shoes with arch supports.
Stay off the sugar too
