It's the insurance company's way of hoping you'll stop placing business with them. Technology "upgrades" and other system deficiencies have long been away the industry uses to slow down policy placements without having to file anything with the state. At least that's my cynical take . . . Ymmv

So I'm starting to think it's me.
So I'm starting to think it's me. I started the insurance business in 2009 at a call center. Within 2 months I could bind a home and auto policy within 7-10 minutes on a recorded line. Fast forward to 2026... it took me over an hour to accept a payment yesterday, I did 3 quotes with 8 carriers through my aggregator that took about an hour each and couldn't be completed with multiple carriers due to system glitches. I feel like technology didn't take a step back it fell off a cliff. The page scrolling, errors, multiple platforms for each carrier, lack of information populating and crashes have made this job more time consuming. I enter information and the carrier encrypts it which causes a redundancy. Did something in the industry change or am I just hitting that senior period of my life where I hate technology? Like an athlete who can't dunk or bench 315 anymore? Everyday it's harder to get excited about work, even in the making money calls. I'm too young(poor) to retire and to old to change industries. And don't get me started on the service center attitudes and language skills. See less MEDIA0.GIPHY.COM
